Spring is from August to mid October with temperatures off 18”C to 28”C.
Shelly beach is a bustling coastal centre and well known ski-boat launch for deep sea fishing, whale expeditions and dolphin watching trips, and scuba diving expeditions. Just off shore lie the Protea Banks, a deep dive site famous for the ragged tooth shark sightings.
Shelly Beach is home to the largest shopping mall on the coast: South Coast Mall and Shelly Centre provide a diverse range of shops, restaurants and coffee bars.
The South Coast of the Kingdom of the Zulu is a surfer’s paradise. There are ride able waves everywhere, including hollow beach breaks, points (mainly right-handers) and a few classic reef breaks. The water temperature is warm all year round.
The Golf coast is the hidden gem of golf destinations in Africa. Some of South Africa’s finest golf courses are to be found on the South Coast.In recent years all 9 of the 18 hole golf courses on the Golf Coast have upgraded their courses and facilities to keep up with the trends in the golf industry. Shelly Beach is 1 hour’s scenic drive from Durban International Airport. At Margate`s Airport close to Shelly Beach smaller and private aircraft can land.
